The Southern Alberta Heritage Language Association (SAHLA) is a non-profit umbrella
organization whose mission is to lead, advocate and provide resources for the promotion
of International/heritage Languages (IL/HL) and Cultural Education. SAHLA represents
over 30 community-based language schools teaching 38 languages to over 6,000 students,
both children and adults.

Languages Taught By SAHLA Member Schools
SAHLA represents over 50 languages and cultures taught to over 6,000 students at community-based language schools. Classes are offered from kindergarten to grade 12 as well as for adults. Our community-based language classes take place on weekends and are operated by Calgary's diverse linguistic cultural community associations. Some of SAHLA's schools offer high school credit courses recognized by Alberta Education.
