The Southern Alberta Heritage Language Association (SAHLA) is a non-profit umbrella organization whose mission is to lead, advocate and provide resources for the promotion of international/heritage languages (IL/HL) and cultural education. SAHLA is partnering with the University of Calgary to offer a professional development program for International and Heritage Language Instructors.

Please note that there are a maximum of 20 spaces in each course. One instructor per school is invited to register through SAHLA. Should your school wish to send a second instructor, please let us know, and if space allows we will consider your request.
To enrol in a course, please download and complete the Course Registration Form, listing the names and and dates of the courses you will be taking. Please fax this form to SAHLA at 403-232-8760.
If you wish to apply for admission to the Teaching Second Language Certificate, please visit the U of C's Continuing Education Website, and see the link to Apply for Certificate Admission. Please note you do not need to be enrolled in a certificate to take a course.

Saturday, November 7th, 2009, 10AM-4PM, at the Greenwood Inn (click for map). Registration is only $20 which includes lunch.

Sessions include: Technology, Communicative Strategies, Teaching Techniques, Professional Development.
